a vintage old hollywood inspired engagement at twa hotel

This shoot holds a special place in my heart - not just because it was THE most fun shooting at TWA Hotel, an old terminal at JFK, but because Tory, bride to be, allowed me to style her completely. Given her full trust, I pulled from my large vintage collection, full of unique pieces I’ve sourced for the past decade from my travels abroad.

Tory wanted a classic, 1940/1950-esque, old Hollywood feel from head to toe, with a bit of variation so I put together 4 different outfits for her, consisting of the following styles, as seen in gallery order.

  • Elevated, yet comfortable, French inspired, feminine, old-school/old love

  • Fun, whimsical, a pop of color, play with texture (frilled neckline)

  • Classic pant & blazer suit, neutral tones, with a statement piece

  • Old Hollywood, Met Gala aesthetic, dress to the nines

Noteable designers for the pieces include Christian Dior and Philip Treacy. Most pieces were sourced during travels through Paris and of course my home base - New York City.
