an oceanside jewish wedding in rye, ny

As a wedding photographer, I have a responsibility to capture both the little in between moments and of course the bigger ones - especially those of tradition, ritual, and anything that shows who you stand for, what you believe in and what you value. Tamara, an interior designer with a special love for vintage (having worn her mom’s wedding dress for the second half of her wedding), let me know in detail before her day about all of the steps involved in a Jewish wedding, asking I capture the joy and energy of what she hoped the day would have.

Looking over the water at The Wainwright House in Westchester, they wed in summertime, with Tamara wearing Vera Wang (but not for long before switching into Mom’s beaded gown.) The ceremony presented some of the most beautiful golden hour light I’ve ever seen, casting warmth (quite literally) over the couple as they married under their handmade floral strung chuppah. With their first kiss came an even more beautiful pastel light, gracing the newlyweds with an overwhelmingly feeling of happiness and joy.
