an intimate & relaxed wedding on governor’s island

There is nothing more NYC than taking the ferry to your wedding ceremony. And that’s exactly what Pippa, a NYC fashion photographer, and Daniel did along with their immediate family and best friends.

Wanting something very simple, down to earth (quite literally - the colors were beautiful this time of year!), and laid back, they decided to elope on Governor’s Island, complete with a vintage boombox to serenade them all. With it being quite a chilly date, the island felt quiet, as if we were the only ones around - allowing for an even more intimate feel.

Complete with buggies to get around the island, a just married getaway car with La Croix cans strung to the back, and two very bumpy ferry rides, they wed.
